About

We are here to help you with your mission-related data management and analytical needs.

MITRE’s Support to Chief Data Officers

MITRE has a long history of supporting government sponsors who manage the data that drives their mission. Long before there was an Evidence Act or the role of the Chief Data Officer (CDO), MITRE supported Enterprise Data Management efforts such as Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, Data Quality, Data Integration and Interoperability.

Today, we continue that work to use data to drive decisions. We support CDOs in the DoD, Intel and Civilian sectors of government. We offer classes and workshops on topics such as Enterprise Data Management 101, CDO Fundamentals and Introduction to NIEM. We have authored the Modern Data Strategy book which is freely available to federal and state employees. And, we run the annual CDO Summit which is free to all government staff.

If you are a government CDO, please consider joining our CDO community.

Benefits of Being Part of the CDO Community

When the Evidence Act of 2018 established the requirement for Chief Data Officers in government agencies, collaboration began between people who had been already working with data. Enterprise Data Architects, Statisticians, Data Stewards, Analytic Officers and Chief Information Officers naturally came together to continue to lay the groundwork for improving the strategic use of data. By being a part of this CDO community you can benefit from the lessons learned of your colleagues and from the advice of MITRE Data Management subject matter experts.

We are starting by creating a place where you can go to find all of the artifacts from previous CDO Summits as well as templates and exemplars from the MITRE teams that support you. As we build this community we hope to provide you with a secure site for collaboration and innovation where you can ask questions, get answers, buy down your risk, and reduce the time it takes to improve your data governance and analytical programs.
